NEA EdAction Gun Violence in Schools

A school should be the safest place in any community.

But instead, students and educators face the fear of gun violence in their classrooms and on their campuses every day.

That’s why, in partnership with Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, NEA has developed an in-depth online Gun Violence Prevention and Response Guide.

With sections on prevention, preparation, response, and recovery, the guide can help educators—including state and local leaders—ensure their schools and institutions of higher education are safe and prepared. The guide includes resources, recommended practices, and checklists to empower school communities to take action and make a difference.
